The Testicular Health and Well Being Event
UCARE supports the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with the Testicular Health and Well Being Event.
Depending on the nature of your testicular cancer you may be invited to this event by your Specialist Team if you are eligible for the remote follow up programme. If you feel you may wish to attend please discuss with specialist nurse.
The number of patients (not carers) attending this event is approx. 15 per session. You will have access to a number of excellent speakers that makes for an interesting and lively event. You will also be able to spend time speaking to people who have been through a similar diagnosis to yourself and therefore it will be an excellent opportunity to network.
The event will educate you on the following:
- The follow up programme
- Tumour markers – your blood results
- Psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis
- The long term complications of arising from a testicular cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Thrivorship issues
- Signposting to other support services.
The event is held every three months at The Maggie’s Centre in Oxford.
