Protheroe Family Skydive
In June 2018 50% of the Protheroe family will be jumping out of a plane!
Why? Because we want to raise money for two very special charities.
The first charity we have chosen is the Breast Cancer unit fund and Radiotherapy Radiographers Fund at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. In late 2017 our Mum (Jayne) was diagnosed with breast cancer. Following surgery, she has recently undergone 4 weeks of radiotherapy at the Churchill. To thank all the amazing Doctors, Nurses and Radiographers in this department for putting up with our Mum on a daily basis as well as making her better, we would like to give something back.
The second charity is UCARE (Urology Cancer and Research Education), as no Protheroe family fundraiser could ignore this brilliant charity! The money will be divided 50/50 between these two amazing causes.

The Great English Walk - Chepstow to Berwick-upon-Tweed
17th March 2018
Geoff Gafford completed the momentous walk from Chepstow to Berwick-upon-Tweed in support of UCARE.
Encountering the very worst of the weather of March and April including snow, torrential rain and freezing temperatures with basic shelter, raising an incredible £2,000
Geoff Gafford is planning a momentous five weeks walk from Chepstow to Berwick-upon-Tweed in support of UCARE.
In November 2016, out of the blue, I found that I had a large tumour on my left kidney. I was feeling fine but it made itself known.
Two months later, in January 2017, I underwent a radical nephrectomy (removal of the whole kidney) at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. I made an excellent recovery and needed no ongoing therapies, just a scan every six months.
I realise that I have been incredibly lucky. Others have not been so fortunate. I want to raise money for UCARE (Urology Cancer Research and Education).
